Polystyrene/polyolefin elastomer/halloysite nanotubes blend nanocomposites: Morphology‐thermal degradation kinetics relationship

چکیده
Polystyrene/polyolefin elastomer (PS/POE) (90/10 and 80/20 wt/wt) blends containing 1, 3, 5 phr halloysite nanotubes (HNTs) in the presence absence of a compatibilizer (polypropylene-graft-maleic anhydride) were prepared using melt-mixing technique. Scanning electron microscopic studies confirmed matrix-droplet morphology. Energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) mapping indicated that HNTs possessed aggregates, while no agglomeration was observed after incorporating compatibilizer. Thermal stability thermal degradation kinetics investigated thermogravimetry analysis (TGA). The results demonstrated PS/POE blend (90/10) (90/10/5/5) has best stability. Different methods such as Friedman, Flynn-Ozawa-Wall, Kissinger-Akahira-Sunose applied to calculate activation energy. 90/10/5/5 nanocomposite exhibited highest energy, indicating this sample is more difficult degrade thermally than other samples. A correlation obtained between energy intensity TGA-fourier-transform infrared (TGA/FTIR) peaks evolved products. Criado method used determine changes mechanism

Preparation of Perovskite Nanocomposites and Photochemical Degradation Kinetics of Acid Yellow 199
In this study PbZrO3 was prepared as a matrix by the sol-gel process and is characterized by XRD and SEM techniques. The particle size of the synthesized nanocomposite is evaluated about 43 nm. The Lead Zirconate is then doped with Ce3+/TiO2 in different ratios. Nanocomposites are added in the reaction in a photoreactor with a pollutant (an Azo dye) and as a result the degradation percentage is...

Thermal stability and degradation kinetics of polystyrene/organically-modified montmorillonite nanocomposites.
Organically-modified montmorillonite (MMT) clays have been prepared using ammonium salts containing quinoline, pyridine, benzene, and styrenic groups. The nanocomposites were prepared by melt blending and the formation of nanocomposites was characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Thermal stability and flammability were evaluated by thermogravimetr...
متن کاملRelease of Carbon Nanotubes from Polymer Nanocomposites
Carbon nanotube (CNT)/polymer nanocomposites have superior properties compared to the neat polymer matrix. They now are widely used in industry, but questions have been raised about the risks of such materials since CNTs can be toxic when inhaled. For a risk assessment of CNT nanocomposites, it is crucial to know whether CNTs from nanocomposites can be released into the environment or if they r...
متن کاملCarbon nanotubes in novel ceramic matrix nanocomposites
Novel carbon nanotubes±metal±ceramic nanocomposite powders and dense materials have been prepared and their microstructure and mechanical properties have been investigated. After a brief review on the structure, synthesis and physical properties of carbon nanotubes, we describe an original catalytic method that produces ceramic±matrix composite powders that contain in situ grown nanotubes. The ...
